I use an analog console for most of my tracking and am looking to upgrade my interface. I generally use the preamps on the console but I like having the option of interface pres so the Quantum has caught my eye. I do live A/V sessions in my studio as well as live band tracking so the goal is to have 24 channels of I/O. I'm curious if I can achieve this with 2 Quantums and an ADA8200 I already have. Can I connect the ADA8200 with a Quantum that is already linked to another Quantum? In theory I feel like it will work, but don't want to be in it $2000 before I realize I need to spend another $1000 to get 24 channels. Thanks!

Yes, both ADAT ports are recognized when aggregating more than one Quantum together. SMUX rules also apply here.

With this setup, I recommend using BNC cables for clocking.
