I have a 16.4.2 and i want to buy a 24.4.2AI can I use the 16.4.2 as a slave using fire wire

Can  a 16.4.2 be used as a slave to a 24.4.2 AI

No. The classic mixers can't be chained to the AI mixers due to driver mismatch. There is something in the works to allow the drivers to be on the same system, but currently you can not have UC Surface and Universal Control on the same system
