Niles is correct. One must change the timebase of the marker track.

So the timebase you're referring to is on the transport. The timebase Niles was referringto is on the tempo track There's a musical notes symbol on as default. Click that, it switches the marker track's timebase to seconds rather than bars.

Not an expert, I just went through the same thing.
