Hi folks,

I'm wondering how to make a transformer type voice (but more natural, so it runs along with a voice-over), or like those in the Warcraft movie. Something that I can have the most control over. I've seen some plugins on youtube that can do a similar effect, such as Image Line's Harmor. But I'm looking to do it with S1 stock plugins where possible.

I love how they make the actor's voice sound gigantic and powerful. Any ideas most welcome!

PS: I'm also open to any info on 3rd-party plugins that might do the same effect.

Cheers,
Sam

You can try any or all of the following....

Use transpose first.  Right click the clip and pitch it up or down an octave using the transpose field.  As you go farther and farther with that it will start to have very noticeable robotic like artifacts which may get you at least partly there.

After that, experiment with plug-ins like Chorus, Phaser, Bit Crusher, Rotor, etc, different plugs like that to try to get the overall end result you want with Studio One plugins by distorting and shaping the sound in various ways.  Maybe stack all of those up on the channel and play with their settings.

If you want more of a metallic sound try a really short bright reverb and maybe boost of band pass the mid range of the reverb return.

Might not be the same but may be a good path to explore.
