The only reason this would occur would be because of network subnetting. I've included a link below on how subnetworks operate:

It boils down to this mostly. If you have a different IP address on one computer than the computer you are connecting with, you will get conflicts. And especially with Studio One software for DAW control, if you have more than one (1) network adapter (say wireless and wired on the same network) you could produce conflicts in being able to see devices appropriately.
The rule of thumb: Keep everything in the same address scheme, whether that is 192.x.x.x, 169.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x
