We get quite a number of inquiries from customers who have purchased an HP laptop and find that they cannot get the AudioBox software to install.

If you're having trouble installing our software on your HP computer, whether it's a device driver or recording software.

Please do the following.

- Temporarily Disable ALL anti-virus software on your computer. You can simply do this by selecting it in your task bar (down by the clock) and right clicking it and set it to temporarily disable. Symantec for example will give you a timer to turn it back on. For Microsoft Defender, you'll need to go into the Windows Settings, and open it up and turn it off, you can turn it back on after the install is complete.

- When you're ready to install, right click the file you want to run and click "Run As Administrator". This is especially important on Windows 8.1 and 10 systems.

The driver / software should install without issue.

Keep this in mind the next time you want to install anything on your system.

Simply restarting your system will be enough to restart your Anti-Virus software, otherwise, follow what you did previously and turn your software back on.

Windows 8 users with HP laptop that have not upgrade to Windows 8.1 please read the following knowledge base article

If you're not sure what version of your operating system you have installed, you can hold down the Windows Button and then the X button to bring up the short cut administrative tools menu. Click the letter "Y" to be taken to your system menu. There it will tell you which version of Windows you are running.
