Why is there more characters in hui mode (protools) on mackie mcu pro when there is more space on fader port screen?

Had My first session on my faderport 16 (protools and a massive session) and found it nearly impossible to navigate given how abbreviated the names are on the channel displays 4 char (my point exactly lol). 5 characters physically fit on the mackie screen and it looks like at least 10 would fit on the faderport. I understand protools no longer supports hui mode but this has to be on your end if my old Mackie mcu pro has more characters displayed. Its my only gripe with this product but its a huge one! when there are so few characters every single one counts.

I just bought the Faderport 16 a couple of weeks ago and I agree that there is so mush more space in the scribble strips that is not being used. I find it really hard to see what it says in the windows. This could be done so much better. There should be a way to select different scribble strip setups in the setup menu where you can choose mackie mode...
