I need to send a MIDI file with DISCREET tracks from SO3 Pro to my brother who uses Pro Tools, so he can try out his virtual instruments on the song. When I do the "save as MIDI" thing and send it to him... NOPE! He can't see discrete tracks. I thought, by default, Type 1 MIDIs (which Presonus says is the ONLY format SO does) ALWAYS had discreet tracks. Am I wrong about that?

You are not wrong about that.  Studio One exports Type 1 (multitrack) MIDI files.    It may be an error with the other user in Pro Tools.

If you think something is wrong with your MIDI file exporting please create a support ticket so that an agent can assist you and also please attach the MIDI file to your ticket, the one that he cannot open or see all of the tracks.
