Reggae-style DUB mixes

I'm trying to create Dub mixes in StudioOne 3.5. For example, one section of a song might have just drum and bass, while another might have drum, bass and vocals, or any combination of tracks, and I need to be able to switch between mixes at any point during a song.

I've tried VCA's and busses, but if one audio track is sent to multiple VCA's or busses, the level increases as VCA's/busses are selected. Using folders or groups, one track cannot appear in multiple folders/groups. The closest I've come to success is by automating mutes on channels not wanted to be heard, but while this works, setting the automation envelopes is tedious, especially if the tracks are not contiguous. There must be an easier way. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim

Cutting up the regions and mute them ? (Shift-M when a clip is selected). This is how I spread tracks over multiple channels. Just duplicate complete, slice and mute.
