I have an instrument track using Presence that stopped playing midi notes. It had been working OK for a few days, but for unknown reasons it stopped making sound. I could edit it and directly play Presence and hear audio, but the notes would not create audio on playback. As a workaround, I copied the midi info into a new instrument track configured the same way for Presence and it worked OK. However, now I cannot delete the original midi track. The track appears in the Mix view, but not in the arranger view. The track does appear in the Track List view. When I select the track in Mix or Track List view and use Track menu to try Remove Track, the Remove Track button is grayed out. So I have an empty track (actually, now two of them) that do nothing but cannot be deleted. Studio One 4 Pro, 4.1.1.499941 Build Oct 30 2018.

I have this exact situation with a group of Impact tracks I wanted to get rid of.  I could find no way to delete them.  To get past this I found you can Hide the tracks from either the Mix view or Channel List.  Once you do this they disappear from the Mix view and stay in the Channel List grayed out (both normal behaviors) but Show Track is not an option in the Channel List (not normal).

I suspect that the tracks were actually deleted initially and all associated data didn't get properly removed so it still appears in the Mix and Channel List views without pointing to an actual track.

Presonus helped me resolve this issue, but unfortunately I now forget the details. I think the trick was to delete the instrument itself rather than the track that was using it. There was a right-click somewhere to access the delete instrument option. Sorry I can't provide a detailed response, but I am certain that the bogus tracks could be properly removed.

As per arthurzatarain's answer, you can access Instruments tab by clicking on Instr. on the bottom left part of the mixer window and delete the orphaned instruments from there by right clicking the instrument or click at the down arrow -> Remove. This will delete the track.

Hey guys! Easiest way tobremove tracks and instruments your not using is to go to the mixer screen, at the bottom, click instruments, tgen head to the top where it says Channel   Group  Instruments   z and hit the down arrow. It gives you an option to Disable all or remove unused instruments! Bam! Click remove unused instruments and there you have it folks! All cleaned up!
