Question

I am about to purchase the PreSonus Quantum 2 and a Shure sm7b. I know normally you would need a separate mic preamp to get the sm7b gain to a proper level when recording vocals but my question is...

Are the preamps in the PreSonus Quantum 2 good enough to track vocals with the sm7b WITHOUT a separate mic preamp (like cloudlifter)?

I can't see why not. I don't have one but I do have a SM57 and SM58 and they are both fine straight in to the Quantum. I recommend you look at the Studio Channel though. ;-)
