Chaining midi failure.

I’m having problems with Studio One 4 Artist recognising chained MIDI devices. My set-up consists of a Korg Krome 88 as my main keyboard, with a Novation Impulse 61 as an auxiliary controller. I use the Impulse faders to control CC#1 and CC#11 on the Krome and also occasionally the 8 pads as triggers for the Krome.

This system works fine live, but when used with Studio One, the Impulse data is not recorded into a MIDI recording – the performance is recorded minus the expression/dynamics data. The Krome registers the input, but fails to pass it on to Studio One. To be clear, the Impulse is connected via 5 pin MIDI to the Krome’s MIDI in, the Krome is connected to Studio One via USB MIDI on a Windows 7 system. Any suggestions as to why this is happening would be appreciated. I am truly perplexed.
