Question

The laptop I was using to connect to my FireStudio crashed.  The laptop I bought does not have a FireWire port or an express card slot.  I know that a straight FireWire to USB cable will not work.  I have googled a device that called a Pinnacle Movie Box claims to connect a video camera via FireWire to the device and then to a laptop via USB port.  Can this be done?

Hi. I don't think that is going to work. I had a look at the Pinnacle website, the Movie Box has been replaced (or perhaps re-named) and is now called Dazzle DVD Recorder HD. It doesn't have a FireWire input, just composite and S-Video. M
