Question

I have a 16R setup so that it is sending all tracks one for one to Studione 4.

This works well, as all tracks are individual recorded into Studione from their associated tracks on the 16R.   I can hear via headphones while recording.  I have monitor mixes setup with the AUX busses, as well as the headphone output.  I have my mains plugged into AUX 5 and 6 as I do not yet have the proper XLR cables to plug them into the "main" ports on the back of the interface.

The issue I am having is that even though I have recorded tracks, I can't export a mix down.  When I try to do this, the output source is either the digital return, or one of the 16 tracks that have instruments recorded on them.   I do not see any audio on the channel meter for the digital return, and the exported mixdown is just an empty file.  

So my goal is:  Once I record into studione via the 16R, how to I export the mixdown?   I used to do this with two firestudio mobile devices, and the main mix would do what I wanted.   I can't figure out how to do this with the new interface.

The 16R is a special mixer because of single-core architecture, therefore I can't give precise information where is what. What you should do is to create a new song in Studio One and load your mixer's template, because it contains all routing you need. All input channels are routed to their tracks and the Main bus L/R is also routed (I suppose USB 17+18 as Digital Return). If you want to mix throught mixer, all you need to dop is to route the mixer's Main L/R to Studio One. But the normal approach would be a mix inside Studio One which and an export/rendering as WAV-file.

Sorry that I can't be more detailed, because the 16R is so different to the other mixers. I think the template will be the key to find an answer.
