How are you supposed to handle overlapping notes in a piano part, for example one finger holds F for a half note, and above it eight notes are played,Bb, A, Bb, A.  MIDI recording simple doesn't handle it, but moment the second eight note is played, the half note is truncated to an eighth note. Theoretically, it's possible manually entering different voices, tediously entering then hiding a sh*tload of rests, but that is unworkable. Any suggestions?

Hook up a Sustain pedal to your Keyboard MIDI controller. Without a sustain pedal, there's nothing to hold the note ringing.
