Notes being placed in wrong location by the software

As you can see in the picture above, when I tried to drop a note the software moves it automatically to the left. I need the notes in the red box. Can you please advise how to fix the issue?

It looks like you may have hit the second voice - go to the palette and re-select voice 1.
