I just bought a studiolive 32sc for live and studio work. I have an older version of protools on Windows 7, 64 and want to carry on using it as I don’t want to learn a new program like studio one. My studio PC dosnt have Internet access , so I downloaded  all the programs onto a usb stick. Studio one , UC control, Capture. And installed everything on the studio pc fine, The desk works perfectly with all of PreSonus software, but when I try and open pro tools an error message comes up saying I need to pick a ASIO driver for playback.. There’s about 8 different options in the drop down menu, but none of them work. Then protools closes itself.. I can’t seam to solve this issue and keep going around in a loop. Can’t find any mention of an ASIO Driver in the PreSonus documents.

Need help

You're going to make sure you're running Pro Tools 9 or higher, older versions do not support 3rd party interfaces.

Make sure you've run all of your updates to bring it up to the last supported version for PT.

With the console turned off, plug a USB Cable from the StudioLive 32SC console into an available USB Port on your computer.

Once you've installed latest version of Universal Control from the download page, turn on your Console to allow Windows to associate the proper drivers from the UC install with the console.

In ProTools Toolbar Menu select Setup, then select Playback Engine and then Current Engine drop down menu there you'll need to select "StudioLive ASIO Driver" in the drop down menu.

If that doesn't work, you may need to contact Avid Tech Support for further assistance to make sure you have the right version of Pro Tools to use with 3rd party ASIO drivers.

You'll also want to familiarize yourself with the limitations of using PT with audio interfaces other than those made by Avid.

Once you figure out your audio setup you'll want to figure out how to set it up with DAW Mode, watch this video:
