Question

So I have two guitar tracks, one panned left and the other right. I want to apply the exact same Pro EQ to them. How do I link these two Pro EQs so that every change I make on one gets simultaneously made to the other as well?

PS: I don't just want to make the change on one track and then copy the insert, because I need to hear the differences I make to both tracks simultaneously to make the correct mixing decision. This seems like a crucial feature to me...

Hey,

Bypass the EQ on the guitar tracks

Put the same EQ on an FX bus and send your guitar tracks to this bus. So you can check the result.

When yout're satisfied, save the preset.

Then mute the FX bus and reactivate your EQ's on the guitar tracks with the preset you created for the EQ

Should do the trick no ?

Hi, just an idea but, have you tried to hard pan the guitars and then have a stereo bus set up to send the guitars to.  Post fader is probably what you want.  Then you just e.q. the stereo bus.  This applies the same e.q. moves to the stereo signal.  (Or dual mono in your case).  

Assuming the guitars are both mono recorded that is.  (If you have stereo recorded guitars and then want to hard pan the guitars left and right afterwards, it could get messy and muddy.)

So guitar track one pan hard left, guitar track 2 pan hard right, send both to stereo bus (click select both tracks and add a bus for selected tracks).  Put the E.Q. on the bus insert.   That's how I would do it.  Label the bus "guitar e.q." or something.
