how can I switch from 32bit to 64bit on a Mac bok pro who is told to be 64bit?

i installed Studio One on a MAC book pro with a Dual-Core Intel Core i5 / latest Catalina who is told to be 64bit, but at the installation, it automatically switches to 32bit, giving me no choice. however, I can't install any recent plug ins, because they are mostly 64 bits... anyone have a clue (except changing my Mac to a new one ;) )

Better to ask on the regular Presonus form. This is for Notion feature requests.
