I have recently bought an Audiobox USB 96 that I am very happy with. My question is:  can I sell the bundled Studio One Artist Version software licence?

I have not registered or downloaded the software so my question is not about transferring an already activated licence.

My second question is:  If I do sell the Studio One Artist software will the buyer need to register my Audiobox USB 96 in order to download and activate it? I haven't registered the hardware either so it's not a problem for me.  I'd just end up with an unregistered audio interface.

I did search for this question but responses were about transferring an already active licence whereas I haven't activated mine at all or registered the Audiobox.

I know I could try and register to see how the system works but don't want to accidentally activate the licence as I don't need it.

Thanks for your help and any advice gratefully received.

Hi.

The only way to access the bundled version of Studio one is to register the interface to a Presonus account.

So, if you register it, when you sell the software you will then have to pay the fee for transferring the licence (around $25?).

Or else, you can give your buyer the hardware code and they can access the software directly with there being no need to transfer a licence; but as you say, you would then have an unregistered interface.

Thanks for the helpful response.  I had a feeling this might be the case - I knew I had to register the interface to get the Studio Magic Plug In Suite but had wanted to check about the Studio One Artist.

I'll have a think about whether to sell the two together and 'give up' the registration of the Audiobox.  I wouldn't normally bother, but I've had to buy the Audiobox to do a recording duplicating equipment that I already own but don't have access to due to current situation.
