How do I copy a track and its audio including layers from an older session which has been modified by another band member on a different computer (and location) back to my current session with many new tracks and changes?

We both use the same software and started with the same session file, I've been working on the songs mix and also adding new instruments and parts here at my studio and now he has recorded a new vocal part at his studio.  I want to bring his vocal tracks and layers into my session to continue the mix process.  I hope to be able to bring in the layers as well so I can do the vocal comping later down the road and not have to comp his tracks now before mixing on...

Thank You,

Gusty

My temporary solution (very time consuming) was to make individual tracks of each layer (for each track in the older session with the new audio tracks/layers) and then make zero-start audio files of each layer.  Then in the new session I created individual tracks for each audio track/layer and then copied and pasted the zero start audio tracks into the newer (mixed) session and then went through the process of making layers for each of the original tracks and moved the corresponding audio to those layers.

I really hope I don't have to do this for all the tracks in all the songs...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You,
