My piano gets slightly delayed when I add in my MIDI drums I recorded

Hi there!

I am new to Studio One 4 (Artist) and I'm currently trying to record and edit my first song.

I'm facing a problem where if I paste in my MIDI drums (already recorded into a different Studio One file), my piano part will be delayed by a few ms and it seems I can't just fix it by dragging the notes back a bit.

This problem seems to only be with the drums I have recorded - I manually put in a few kick drums and it seems to be playing fine, with no delay, but it starts acting up every time I put in my recorded MIDI drums like it's a problem with the recorded track.

I read an article about latency and tried messing around with that but it didn't work.

My specs are:

HP Laptop i5 8GB RAM

Alesis Nitro Mesh Drum Kit

Roland RP401R Piano

I hope this makes sense, any help will be appreciated.

Omar

You refer to them as MIDI drums, but it sounds like they have been rendered to an audio file (WAV).

If that is the case, I'd guess that they were rendered at a different tempo than your current project.
