I am quite new to this, so I may be using wrong names on the things I am trying to describe.

I have recorded a band on 16 tracks in my Presonus RM 16 Mixer, in Capture 2, and is now trying to mix the recording in Studio One (v3). One thing which seems to be complicated to do (I can't find any information  on it) is to adjust the volume for a part of the content on a track, so that this will be a part of the final mix.

Example: On one of the tracks there is an electric guitar, it plays both rhythm (when someone is singing, or some other guy is playing a solo) and do some soloing. If I set the level (volume) on the track so that the guitar is in good balance with the rest while playing rhythm, it will not be loud enough in the mix when it starts playing solo. What do I do to get different volumes on the rhythm and solo parts for the guitar in the song?

Thanks for any help, and kind regards

Tom

...or split the guitar track in solo and rhythm parts and divide those across separate audio tracks (e.g. Rhythm & Solo), so you can freely alter both independently and easily give them their own place in the mix.
