Loving the new features in V5, I’m missing Cubase less and less all the time. However, imo the next area the developers should concentrate on is creative tools for sound design; this is where Studio One lags behind a bit. The included instruments and effects are good but very basic, and it would be wonderful to see more modulation possibilities, thus being able to compete with the likes of Ableton and Bitwig. Here are a few ideas, and I’m sure people will have many of their own to add:

* Integrated looper with sync to locators / free modes, reverse, pitch etc (especially cool now that we have the awesome show page).

* Granular mode for sample one.

* Master section for ImpactXT with lfo’s, envelopes, mod matrix.

* FX slots per pad for ImpactXT, with parameters routable to mod matrix.

* Midi lfo/envelope with drag and drop to any destination.

* Pitch automation / Vibrato plugin, general pitch modulation coolness.

* Loop point modulation in the samplers.

* Per note modulation of pitch / parameters.

Like I said, just my opinion, and I’m sure most of these things could be implemented without changing the current workflow :)
