The universal control for FaderPort 8 failed to update from firmware 2.01 to the current 3.43 on a MacBook Pro

Seconds into the update to the firmware FP8 says "Update failed please power cycle" while Universal Control v3.43 says that the update was 'complete'

This has happened over 12 times

At one point the error message "ucapp has failed" was displayed.

The steps for Rebooting have been powering off the FP8, unplugging the FP8 power cable and USB from the MBP

Open Up Audio MIDI Setup in the Utilities folder.

click Window and select "Show MIDI Studio"

Delete all the grayed out versions of FaderPort 8 that appear.

Now try to do firmware update.

If that does not work, then reset to factory default.

Hold down channels 1 and 2 "Select" buttons at the same time and turn power on to enter setup.

Go to Factory Reset to revert back to base firmware.

Reboot FaderPort, now complete firmware update using Universal Control.
