I have just brought a AudioBox USB 96 and want to plug the unit in my Pc so i can use the Speakers that are already plugged in the Pc, what type of cable do i need, I'm going to buy a XLR - XLR cable so i can plug in my ZINGYOU Condenser Microphone ZY-007 into the AudioBox, but i need to know which type of cable i need to plug into the audiobox sockets and then into the Mic on the Pc, is this how it works, or does the cable go straight to the speakers, i'm confused

Thanks

Steve

I don't think that will work, you'll need to pick up some cheap external monitors.

Hi Steve

The guidance below is aimed to help complete beginner or novice level as i am

A bit late I know . YES buy a ( XLR - XLR cable ) so i can plug in my ZINGYOU Condenser Microphone ZY-007 into the AudioBox Input 1 ..THIS Worked  FOR ME   .

For the speakers if you have ( pc external speakers with a volume knob ) they will have an amplifier  in them. This is what the music industry calls monitors. so unplug the speakers from you computer and plug them in to you Audiobox ~USB 96 direct.

Use       2x  1/4 inch to 3.5mm jack reducers mono or stereo.      + 3 way cable all 3.5mm jack 2 x mono to 1 stereo split  lead.

Pc speakers are the same and do the same job as Monitors, as they give you a sound output. The difference is in quality and controls on the various unit. This variation is  the same between cheap and expensive monitor as well.
