What is the new stage box mode for the RM series of mixers?

What exactly does the new stage box mode do that's different than the previous implementation?

Also - any chance we will ever be able to use an RM mixer connect through AVB to a Studio Live console and actually have the channels that are using the RM mixer inputs route through the direct outs on the channel?  (The use case is recording isolated tracks easily from the Studio Live to a multitrack recorder without having to route any of the remote channels through a sub/aux/etc)

Stagebox Mode ​(i.e. “Simple” Stagebox) ­

This is a more traditional Stagebox function, where the RM mixer simply serves as a remote I/O box for the Console at FOH. All mixing, both FOH and Aux mixing, is done on the AI Console at FOH. ­ NOTE: UC Surface/CS18 control of the RM mixer is NOT supported in this mode ­ When using Stagebox mode, the mixer DSP on the RM is bypassed and all RM outputs are copies of the AI Console’s Auxes and Subgroup outputs as shown below:
