Greetings

Has anyone experienced a lot of hiss in one or more channels of an AR16c?  I guess any of the newer AR mixers - the ones with the blue sides.  My channel one has more noise than all the others put together.  This is without anything hooked up to create noise.  Just signal to noise in the board itself.

I recorded a demo

Hmmm - I replied to this and it was deleted.  But Sweetwater sent a second one and it was also bad - but this time on channel 11/12

Well - it seems to be the nature of the board.  I went over to a friend's house - he has a 24.4.2.  We compared that to the AR16c and also to a Mackie 1202.  Both the 24.4 and the Mackie were reasonably quiet - pretty close to the same.  The AR16c was three times louder in the hiss.  And the intermittent popping in 11/12.  I am not sure that it would be a huge hassle in a loud setting.  He suggested putting a noise gate on the main output.

We tried to see if the AR16c would let us bring up Universal Control on the computer like the 24.4 would.  A FAT on the output would be available.  But it would not come up - only works with the built in Demo.  So apparently that is not an option.
