Using a windows 10 laptop is there a optimum computer output volume setting and use the monitor volume for levels, or is the laptop volume irrelevant ? - newbie

I just use whatever laptop volume is convenient at the time. The volume in the main out is what's important. I'd recommend unless you are mastering a track to keep the main out level around -3 to keep from clipping and making mastering later easier.
