When I tag the channels with names of the artist or instrument, they keep going back to default

When I change the tag on Ch 1, Ch 2, etc to Vocal 1 or Snare etc on my MacBook Pro the re-naming only holds for a minute and then defaults back to Ch 1, Ch 2 etc again.  How can I save this renaming and save it to a Scene ?
