Question

It would be great to be able to be able to easily mute a staff or staves right from the edit window while you are composing rather than having to open up the mixer every time, make the mute changes and then close the mixer again. This is very unproductive.

While not exactly like this Notion actually has a feature allowing you to quickly select which staffs to play.

Look for "Select and Highlight" in your User Guide (page 91 in the version I have).

Unfortunately there is one issue with it on Windows (though I've found a workaround for it).
