Question

When I'm recording drums, I like to record sections of the song separately and piece them together in the same track in order to keep a consistent EQ and effects mix. But I cannot figure out how to cut and delete only one layer in the track. It always cuts through both overlapping parts.

It may help to bounce your tracks once you are done comping.

Then you won't have those extra layers getting in the way.

(Or did I misunderstand the question/issue?)
