This is probably a stupid question, but I have recently bought the Quantum 2626 and want to set up and external effects chain. I have already used all my inputs connecting to my mixing desks and external instruments, so thought I could run the FX's from the line outputs > out into the fx > and then back into the line return which I would then configure to one of the extra inputs in Ableton. I have then set up an external audio effect on Ableton, but can't get the DAW to hear the fx, no matter how much I configure the I/O settings. I've read about the line outputs correlating to inputs 1/2, but not really sure what this actually means. Does it mean I can't use the line return as it's own input?
Any help would be much appreciated.
