Question

For a schoolwide project, we are attempting to record podcasts for individual students. On Studio One Prime, when saving and trying to export/email an audio file off the computer/Studio One software, the files are not readily available to listen to. How can I save each file and email an easily accessible file with their recording?

Never used Prime, so I'm not sure of its export capabilities.  If you can export the mixes as MP3s, that would be easiest.  If not, export the mix down as a type of file that can be opened on most players, e.g., a WAV file at 44.1 kHZ & 16-bit, or export the mix down in a format you can open in iTunes (e.g., the aforementioned WAV file, or an AIFF)  and in iTunes, convert the files to MP3s, then export those MP3s as attachments to your outgoing mail.

I'm not using Prime but I assume it's the same. Adjust your Start and End marker flags on your podcast tracks (if they aren't visible click on the three horizontal bars icon next to the new track plus sign icon on the top left, and check markers. Then cick on the top menu bar, 'Song' > 'Export Mixdown', I would recommend changing the location to your desktop or somewhere else convenient, check it's name, change type to mp3, depending on the length of your file 320mps might work but it would have to be around 5 minutes or less to email as most email services cap attachments at 10 MB but some have it at 20MB, so you probably will want to use a variable or a lower bit rate. In 'Export Range' choose between Start and end Marker. Click 'OK' and it should be mixed down on your desktop. If the files are too big to email, you might need to use an intermediary like Google drive, Skydrive, ect. and email them a link.
