Will S1 utilize all slots of ram? Say for instance I have 2 slots of 8gb ram vs 4gb ram with 4 slots, which will be faster despite the total ram being the same? Is there any difference at all? If there is where will the improvements be made?

Hi.  Go for the 2 x 8 GB instead of 4 x 4 Gb.  This will allow you to upgrade later on if you need more than 16 GB.  As for RAM speeds there should be negligible difference if any.  Make sure your motherboard supports dual channel and you insert in the right slots you should be fine.

aka_buster is spot on. It is usually 1+3 or 2+4 slots for dual memory but double check for your motherboard. Make sure you have S1 64bit installed and not 32bit (32bit programs can only use about 4GB RAM no matter how much is installed.)
