I am an audiobook narrator. I use S1 extensively for my recordings. I use the project function to review my work and also to see how long the finished book will be. I output my tracks using the Stems function, which works fine. For a variety of reasons, it would be convenient to by able to output the files directly from the project screen. However, whenever I try this, it outputs in stereo. There is no option to output in mono. I tried adding the Dual Pan to the Master Inserts and setting the Pan to center R/L but that did not work.

Any thoughts? Is this even possible?

Yes it's possible. On the main track click on the two 00 abover the slider and that will set the Main out to mono. You could also add the Binaural Pan effect and click on it's mono option. But you could get phasing and other unwanted noises. So if your getting these noises you might want to switch the audio on the track to mono tracks earlier. you more than likely would split the stereo track into two mono tracks and only lose the left channel.

What worked for me is to go to the Main bus, click on the button that says "Stereo" and then, on the Song Setup>Audio I/O Setup screen, change the output from Stereo to Mono.
