No matter what software I use, the input level of my recording drops. I’ve tried adjusting the levels in every combination I could think of. If I pause, it comes back for a couple seconds. But it still drops back down.

I’m using a Dell Vostro 5592 with windows 10

Is the audiobox usb clipping when you record? (Red light is flickering) it can be your input is too hot. Turn down the volume a bit and use the fader of the software to boost it a bit. The input of the USB 96 is really sensitive. Try using a super low input volume, both the interface as your synths/guitar/other hardware, just for test purposes. Does it still drop, despite the low input volume? Then something weird is happening.

If not, it means you need to find a good balance of not clipping the audiobox, and prevent hot input.
