I am running Studio One 4 on Windows 10 and am using a Yamaha Audiogram 6 USB audio interface. I have an instrumental loaded up into the first track that I am trying to record vocals against. Whenever I try to playback the track, (or any audio) it's extremely muffled, and it sounds kind of like someone took a lot of the top end off of the audio coming out. It's very spacy and reverb-sounding. I have not applied any EQ or effects to the track myself. I realized there was an updated version of Studio One to be had and I thought downloading that would solve my problem. It didn't. I believe the drivers for the audio interface are up to date.
Something is telling me that it may be a problem with the USB interface or possibly the auxi cable or the male adapter I'm using with it to connect to my headphones. I will be going to the store in the morning to buy a new one of each to see if it helps. I have had this interface for about 7 years and maybe it's just finally giving out, though I've used it as recently as 2-3 months ago without any problems.
Has anybody heard of this happening? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. I am usually a very patient person but I'm itching to record and this has been a problem for my for a couple days now.
