Hi

I have more than one external midi instrument connected to my studio live and studio one via a midi interface however i would like to be able to use automation for effects volume and pan during mixing.  The instruments i am using are not predefined in studio one.

I believe the only way to do this is to convert the midi tracks to audio using the  bounce option however seeing as i have quite a few tracks would like to know if there is an option to bounce multiple track simultaneously to save time.

As the tracks could be in different volumes or have different effects the option to bounce all tracks to one track is unfortumately not an option for me as i would like to keep the track setup.

If there is another way to do the automation without bouncing that would also be brilliant

All help is greatly appreciated.

I am having some trouble here too. I have a TR-8S with 8 Audio outputs. I use Out 1 for the bassdrum, Out 2 for the snare etc...

I created a external Instrument in Studio One and set up the Aux-Channels. But when I Bounce my pattern, I somehow get a stereo mixdown?! I mean, what's the point of setting up multiple Aux Channels for one Device when you cannot bounce each one in mono to mess with the effects later?

I already tried creating instruments for each output and group them but the only way this works out is if I create a pattern for the Bassdrum, another one (on another channel) for the snare and so on.. so this is not what I want.

The whole point of the Instrument-Aux-Midi combination is to have the option to bounce your patterns directly, but this does not work with gear with multiple outputs.. or am I missing any settings here?

I hope anyone can help me or the devs can add the option to bounce each aux channel to its own track..

Ok so I dived the manual and it seems like the only option to get multiple audio tracks from a multi output midi device is to use the "Transform to Audio" option. But this will always transform your whole track (which can be reversed) and ist not possible for single events. So it seems like it is impossible to bounce multi output midi gear to multiple audio tracks, but you can transform the track.

But as I think about your original question... You can use AUX tracks, which are the combination of a midi track for your instruments (including automation etc) and a AUX Audio channel to monitor and record the instrument. Here you can also insert virtual effects, which you can automate in the track. Hope that helps. Presonus also uploaded a YT Video about this so maybe you give it a try...
