Ableton no longer recognizes any inputs in preferences menu drop down box

PC windows 10, ableton live suite 10, presonus studio 2/6 via usb. interface was purchased used 2 yrs ago & have never had issues w it. unable to register it

My desk chair got caught up in the usb cable to my pc keyboard. When I rolled my chair out it pulled on the usb cord going into the back of the pc causing momentary audio drop out. I think I was just listening to mp3s at the time, not working in the daw. the audio interface is plugged into the same set of usb jacks on the rear of the pc. Ever since then I get an error & ableton won't recognize the inputs (on my audio interface). The error message is: Failed to open the audio input device "Mic/Inst/Line In 1/2 (Studio 26) DX." Swapping usb ports & cables makes no difference. The input LEDs illuminate when fed signal on the interface. Ableton just doesnt recognize it. Firmware is most recent & has been forced to update

I've tried all manner of settings in windows, universal control, dts audio control, etc. I believe drivers are up to date. I can't figure it out. Does anyone have any idea as to what has gone wrong? Thanks
