Hi,

I hope someone can help me solve this.

My friend is using his StudioLive 16.4.2 firewire mixer to record various intruments into studio one 5.

For example lets say:

•DRUMS > via CHANNEL1 on mixer>  get recorded to TRACK 1 in studio one

•KEYS > via CHANNEL2 on mixer>  get recorded to TRACK 2 in studio one

this all works well!

Now here is the question:

But what he wants to do now is sending the recorded tracks from studio one 5 back to the mixer channels again (this works well too) but then "re-record" the channels (with fatchannel / fx etc) back to separate tracks in studio one

For example:

•DRUMS in S1 on TRACK1 to >  CHANNEL1 on mixer > [applying fatchannel etc] > re-record *back to *let's say TRACK 3 in S1

•KEYS in S1 on TRACK2 to >  CHANNEL2 on mixer > [applying fatchannel etc] > re-record *back to *let's say TRACK 4 in S1

This way he can mix his music from S1 after recording on the mixer and re-record the individual tracks (so not the main / master mixdown but stems) back to Studio one.

(ending up with stems of the recorded unmixed version of his song aswell as the re-recored mixed version stems all in the same studio one file)

Is this possible? and how would i setup this on the mixer {is there a function for this} aswell as in S1. *couldn't find it in the manual.

Thank you in advance.
