Can the M7 microphone work with an Iphone?

Hello, I am a complete microphone novice!

If I used an XLR to 3.5mm jack lead with the M7, could this then go directly into an Iphone and record without further software? (with a 3.5mm to lightening cable converter).

You would likely need an external power source to provide phantom power to the M7 microphone.
