Question

Hello.

I have Studio one artist 4.

Whenever i create a song that have several tracks the daw begin to create pops and clicks (or maybe cracking/crackling) is the right word) when i play the song and when i record new tracks. It seems that midi tracks especially provokes this. When saying "several" tracks it should be added, that i am talking maximum 20 tracks as i have not yet made songs with more tracks than that.

I can add that the CPU performance meter spikes when this happens.

I am working on a lenevo ideapad Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8300H CPU @ 2.30GHz   2.30 GHz
16,0 GB RAM
Windows 11 64 Bit

I know the pc is not some insane gaming computer, but it seems odd to me, if crackling sounds only can be avoided by investing in an even better computer, as i remember the recommended computers for studio one matches the capacity of my pc.

Is there anyone here who knows how to fix the crackling issue?

Hi. You need to go to preferences>audio setup and increase dropout protection and your block size.  There's lot's of information available about this on the internet if you need further details. Hope this helps.
