This happens a lot, and it's frustrating. When I add plugin by dragging it from the browser, if I don't place it exactly between two other plugins, it overwrites/replaces the one onto which it's dragged.

No offense, but it only takes a modicum of care to make sure of where you're dropping an effect, and the current behavior is more efficient. Perhaps a better suggestion would be the option to turn that behavior on or off, because I think (speculating) most people prefer the current behavior. That might be more complex to implement, but it would satisfy your suggestion without alienating other users who prefer the current behavior.

I'll up-vote this anyway, but hopefully Presonus, if they do anything, will make it a CHOICE rather than a CHANGE.

No offense taken...despite already taking more than a modicum amount of care, it still happens, as I have mild hand tremors. I agree that the option is definitely the best, well, option.

Thanks for the input!

FWIW, this has never happened to me!

Didn't know we could replace a plug-in so easily.

Sounds like the same type of behavior we currently have for Instruments (option to replace or add)
