Advanced DNA style transient and wave detection

I am working on a mixing job that has all the drums (electric kit with no midi data) on a stereo L/R track and this kit in majorly out of balance. The cymbals are too loud and the drums are weak. I need to lay in samples and thought it would be awesome in cases like this to have some kind of transient detection tool that can see 1 transient (from say a Snare hit) and could locate all the transients that create a nearly perfect match in the wave form. So in my case here, I could say, use the smart tool to highlight a snare hit and tell the daw to locate every hit on the track that was a match. Thus allowing it to find all the snare hits, instead of the transients that reach the snares threshold. As of now, it captures everything from cymbals to toms, to kicks. But the snare hits are all identical with the wave form. In these kinds of situations, while rare, this could come in handy at shaving hours off the work.
