Please fix MIDI issues

I have been using S1 for a year on a daily basis. I am a professional songwriter producer and think it's great. However, I've had consistent issues with midi controllers and midi sync to external hardware. I feel like S1 could really improve in this area as it's the main thing I mention to people before recommending it. If studio one could just register a midi keyboard automatically, as in Logic or Ableton, I think that would be a significant improvement. The flexibility of how it is now, should be an option. Also, my S1 never gives me midi names I can recognise to set up my keyboards. For example, my NI Komplete Kontrol keyboard just shows up as "Port 1" and My Korg Taktile shows up as just "DAW". I also have some ghost ports from my Unitor that appear. I have a port 1,2,3 that show up but don't actually exist. The actual Unitor ports show up as Port 1(2) Port 2 (2) and Port 3(2).

I have a more advanced setup than most but I don't think it's wildly different and think this area is S1s biggest weakness. Just wanted to put this forward, as I have been really impressed how much Presonus have listened to user feedback.

Ps I raised this midi issue in a support ticket, but never found a solution. Basically, I have a workaround atm, but its far from perfect.

MIDI is working fine here. Other DAWs detect and automatically re-connected MIDI hardware, Studio One doesn't though. Is this what you mean? Although Studio One has a button you can click to rescan the MIDI devices list.

It seems your problem is limited to your system as it really works fine on mine, and I'm using Windows which has atrocious MIDI support compared with OS X.

You are more likely to get help if you provide a detailed report, including your system specs, OS details, screenshots and project files if required. The extra work involved is worth it as Presonus are more likely to take your support requests seriously if you take the time to describe your problem in a systematic and detailed manner. I've recently filed many support tickets and all of them have been answered within 24 hours and most of them solved, so I'm really surprised you haven't heard from them.

Just to be clear, I had already spoken to support and sent them detailed reports on the issues I've been having and they told me to put this here as a feature request. They could not solve it and agree its an issue. I have a number of midi instruments and channels connected and its not naming them correctly.

Your midi may be fine, but mine isn't so its hard for you to diagnose. I also think the basic fact of having to set up a new controller from scratch is very unnecessary. S1 should have an auto detect/setup option. For someone who travels to a number of different studios and uses different controllers all the time its very inconvenient.
