When I record my vocals (using a microphone), the software is detecting the sound however it's low. However,  when I normalize my audio it seems to bring it to normal but I've been recording for a long time without having to normalize my audio. If   anyone might   know the reason for  this issue, please tell me.

Urcal,

There is not enough information here to be able to assist you fully.

- no interface or USB Mic listed

- not enough info about your setup

In general, you will want to follow the signal flow; which has several points in which the audio signal can be controlled/altered:

1) from the Mic to the interface being used

2) from the interface into the computer

3) from the computer into the recording software

4) from the input in the recording software to the recorded audio signal

**this is a total of 2 points of input level control/ gain staging

      a) physically on the interface input gain

      b) electronically via the software channel input gain
