Hello there,
let's say I have an AudioBox 1818VSL, a camera connection kit, and an iPad mini 4. Let's say I can connect the AB to the iPad successfully, since it is declared to be Apple Core Audio Compliant here: http://auriaapp.com/Support/auria-audio-interfaces.
Now, let's say I want to add a DigiMax D8 pre connecting it via ADAT to the AudioBox. Will the total 16 XLR inputs be visible and usable in the iPad?
Thanks for your valuable time,
Gianpaolo

We don't officially support the 1818VSL with the CCK on the iPad.

Now considering that iOS is basically a watered down version of the full OS X, taking into account that the AudioBox VSL series uses the class audio driver from Apple that is part of their OS and the 1818VSL does pass audio means that it is using the class driver already.

There is no control panel for the 1818VSL on iPad so the default I/O configuration for 44.1KHz and 48KHz would apply.

The default I/O configuration is 48KHz so that would mean that yes, the I/O would be:

1-8 = Analog Inputs

9-10 = SPDIF

11-18 = ADAT

You can try it to see if it works. If it does, then you're where you need to be.
