We bought the AVB card for the 4.2.AI 32 mixer, just trying to figure out how to configure it to connect to the RM32 Mixer?  Both mixers have the latest Firmware updates.

Second question.  Does the RM32 come stock with an AVB card?  I can't get the two to talk.  When I engage the stagebox mode it turns off the outputs on the RM32, but I don't get any feedback on the 32.4.2 AI, no control.

I noticed that it doesn't give me an IP for direct connect, and maybe thats ok?

Also when I login into the RM32, It doesn't show any available cascading devices - hmmm?

Sorry, the link leads to old information. Direct connection is made different nowadays, so please read here: http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/210047643-StudioLive-RM-Mixer-Wired-and-Wireless-Network-Setup-and-Troubleshooting.

To answer your question: Your SL3242 has NOT come with an AVB or Dante card, so you have to decide which route you want to follow. The card only allows "simple" ethernet connections, which means a router. If you want to go the AVB route, get the card and install it (goes very easy). After that are able to make the two units "talk" to each other, but this simple solution does not give you remote control (iPad), the stagebox modes and cascading. All that is based on an AVB network, so you need an AVB switch and a router.
