I've recorded MIDI from a Piano Yamaha CP. I see the MIDI recording in the timeline but even after trying to map anything that I can think of to output and play around with every setting I could find I still cannot get MIDI to play through the speakers. All other elements play back fine. What am I missing?

I'm trying to playback the midi track so that I can record a vocal track but for some reason this isn't working for MIDI.

Midi is only Informations about what is to be played and at which velocity etc.  Midi does not make any sound what so ever by it self

What you have heard is the sound from the CP while the midi only has been recorded

You will have to either send that midi back out to the CP to make it play or find a VST-Instrument that you like and drag and drop it on the midi track you recorded. This way you are telling the midi to play through the VST Instrument (which will produce the sound the midi tells it) to your selected output

Midi => Instrument => Output
